Match Report: Wednesday 20th January 2010

The U13A netball team worked hard against an athletic team from Spalding High, to add to their first victory, with a decisive 16-4 win. The shooters found it difficult to find their consistency but were given plenty of chances due to some superb interceptions and defensive play from the centre court and defence which gave the team plenty of attacking chances. Georgie Hobill and Diana Bevan impressed greatly.
The boys had a tougher time against a couple of tough teams from The Elm’s, the junior part of Trent College. The U9s went 0-5 down after 15 minutes but battled back to 1-5 by half-time. In the second half they fought more aggressively to finish the match 3-6. Barney Fox, Tim Judge and Jack Turner were all outstanding. The Colts A went down 2-6 but 4 of the goals were lost in a five minute phase in the first half when Witham players seemed to take a nap! With a second half score of 2-2 the match was much closer than the score suggests. These were high standard first matches for the boys!
